Bishop Donne Lee Lindsey, Sr. was born in Bluff City, AR April 17, 1924 to
Neut and Anna Yarbrough Lindsey.  He is one of 11 Children.  He is married to
Irma Moore Lindsey since September 1, 1946. They have three children, Donna
(Larry), DeJuana, and Donnie II (Eleanor).  The Lindsey’s have four
grandchildren, Valerie, Donnie III, Warren and Nia, two great grandchildren,
Lindsey (deceased) and Kayla.

Lindsey’s education is comprised of a B. A. Degree from Little Rock’s Arkansas
Baptist College in Sociology and has done graduate work at Fisk University in
Nashville, Tennessee and at Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University) in
Tuskegee, Alabama.  He holds an honorary doctorate degree from Arkansas
Baptist College in Little Rock, Arkansas and from Shorter College in North Little
Rock, Arkansas.

Lindsey was called into ministry in 1944, Appointed District Sunday School
Superintendent in 1947, received his first pastorate in England, Arkansas in
1951. In 1959 Lindsey was appointed pastor at Revelation Church of God in
Christ at Carlisle, AR. His next appointments were as follows: 1965 – State
Sunday School Superintendent, 1972 – Established a mission in North Little
Rock, AR called Emmanuel, 1973 – Appointed as First Administrative Assistant
to the Jurisdictional Bishop, 1975 – Appointed to the Office of Bishop of the
Second Jurisdiction of Arkansas by Presiding Bishop J. O . Patterson, 1975 –
Received the pastorate of Calvary Temple Church (Now called New Calvary
Temple Church) in North Little Rock, AR.  Nationally he has served on the
Judiciary Board, National Housing Board and as Chairman of the Board for Saint’
s Academy in Lexington, MS.

Professionally Lindsey has served as Principle of George Washington Carter in
Allport, Arkansas. He organized and became owner of Lindsey’s Barbecue in
1956 that later expanded to Lindsey’s Hospitality House  both in North Little
Rock and Currently Lindsey’s Barbecue at Conway, Arkansas those businesses
continues today under the direction of Donnie, Jr.   He is also CEO of Lindsey’s
Enterprises which is further expansion of his vision that seeks to help individuals
in need.

In the community Bishop Lindsey’s has served on numerous committees and
boards, to mention a few, he currently serves on the Board of Directors of Twin
City Bank, the North Little Rock Boys and Girls club, and the North Little Rock,
Housing and Facilities Board. He serves as Senior Pastor of New Calvary Temple
Church of God in Christ and as Jurisdictional Prelate for Arkansas Second
Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church of God In Christ.  He has served on the
Arkansas State Labor Board, the YMCA Board of Pulaski County, as Urban
Renewal Commissioner. He has served as the Coordinator of Citizens
Participation in Model Cities Program and on the Governor’s Commission on
School District Reorganization.

Lindsey’s other accomplishments include being the first African American to
serve on the North Little Rock City Council, the North Little Rock, Chamber of
Commerce and the North Little Rock, Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors.
