2007 Throwback Musical Competition
The Throwback Musical Competition 2007 had 15 participants who were to perform for 5
minutes and were judged in 3 areas. These areas were Choir Technique, Technical Merit,
and Presentation of Performance. Throwback participants came from as far as
Texarkana, TX to participate.
The judges for this event were Recording Artist Bishop Kenneth L. Robinson who is also
the Bishop of Music for the Full Gospel Baptist Church under the presidium of Bishop Paul
S. Morton, He is also the Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church among many other accolades.
Also apart of our judging staff was Singing Sensation and Praiser David Wyatt of
Texarkana, TX. David is a featured Artist on July 28th at the 2007 AR 2nd Jurisdiction
Convocation. Finally our tie breaker judge was S.J. Porchia of Little Rock who is a Artist
Manager.
The Program began with dancers from the Greater Heights ministries and went directly
into the flurry of music that was the competition. The competition involved various levels
of talent and skill that made for a very exciting evening. After the competition concluded
the program proceeded with the Truth and Love Steppers of Pine Bluff. The evening was
capped by praise medley by David Wyatt.
The winner for the evening was The Nashville District whose Music President is Elder
Kevin Brazil under the direction of Pastor Donald Vaughn. 1st Runner up was Demond
Newburn and Friends from Little Rock, 2nd Runner up was Fordyce West District under
the direction of Minister Anthony Jackson who is the Music President.
The Nashville District will receive a large trophy and the opportunity to be featured at the
State Convocation of July 28th. The District Superintendent is Elder Mickey Lofton.
